Airfoam's uniqueness is innovative technology created over 35 years of practical experience in the New Zealand marketplace; being able to deliver an insulation solution to houses built prior to 1991, in a cost efficient and results driven way.
THE PRESENT
In 2005 AIRFOAM WALL INSULATION LIMITED purchased the assets of AIRFOAM THERMAL INSULATION LIMITED. David Rees having owned and operated a successful Airfoam Franchise for the past 13 years is Managing Director of Airfoam Wall Insulation Limited.
Having completed an apprenticeship in Shipwright/Boatbuilding David Rees then went into the building industry, building and renovating houses then commercial building, specialising in commercial interiors. In 1992 he purchased an AIRFOAM Franchise, and has spent the last 14 years specialising in insulation, including a 2 year period where he sold and installed all forms of insulation. However, after realising that the majority of the houses that he visited mainly needed wall insulation, David Rees focused his attention and chose to specialise completely in the insulation of existing walls.
THE PAST
John Munro was the founder of Airfoam New Zealand. With over a 30 year record of technical and practical experience in the New Zealand marketplace, John is now Airfoam's National Advisor.
He is an Associate Member of the N.Z. Institute of Heating and Ventilating Engineers and has also been active in the early years of the Building Services Group of the Institution of Professional Engineers of New Zealand. He has been involved in these industries for some 40 years.
During his period of involvement, he developed allied products making extensive use of foamed plastics technology and he was the founder of a company, which developed to be a world leader in its field, with offices in Australia spearheading a major export effort. In 1980 John Munro sold his interest in this company and has brought his expertise and knowledge of foamed plastics, together with development and administrative experience to the home energy efficiency sector.
At time of writing Airfoam Thermal Insulation Ltd (the founding Company) has well over 30 years of successful market penetration from Invercargill to Whangarei.
